The La Modernité pendant in silver is inspired by words from Charles Baudelaire. The following words are hand engraved on the pendant: 'La modernité, c'est le transitoire, le fugitif, le contingent, la moitif de l'art, dont l'autre est l'ternel et l'immuable. Il y a eu une modernité pour chaque peintre ancien.' Translating to: 'Modernity is all that is transitory, ephemeral, within the realms of possibility, that half of art, whose other is eternal and immutable. Each old master was modern once.'
